Ultrasonic Thickness Gage

thick_ultrasonic_abs

8010-0100

Hand held ultrasonic thickness gage designed to
measure thickness of metallic and non-metallic
materials, such as aluminum, titanium, plastics,
ceramics, glass - any good ultrasonic wave-conductor
as long as it has parallel top and bottom surfaces
Measure various raw materials, component parts and
     assembled machinery
Use to monitor all types of pipes and pressure vessels
for loss of thicknes due to corrosion or erosion
Easy to use, with simple calibration to a known
     thickness or sound velocity
  Automatic shut off
Stores up to 5 velocities of sound
  Automatic zeroing
Rapid review of stored test data
  Low battery voltage indicator
  Comes complete with compact durable
carrying case, probe, coupling agent and manual

Basic Operating Principle: The principle of ultrasonic wave in thickness measurement is similar to that of the optical wave. The ultrasonic wave pulses transmitted by the probe reach the object to be measured and propagate in the object.  When the pulses reach the interfaces, they reflect back. The thickness of the object is determined precisely measuring the time the ultrasonic wave travels in the object. To increase accuracy, this ultrasonic thickness gage is equipped with an automatic gain control and v-path error correction.
