Fowler styli have excellent thermal and environmental stability, with extremely high resistance to impact and  fracture. All probes are fitted with M2 threads.  A variety of adaptors are available for conversion to M3 and M4 sizes, allowing styli to be used on the other manufacturer's probing systems.
